It is no secret that I came down with a serious trail bug after doing the POOP Trail Run in December, so I was sure to sign up for another one right away. I found the Greenleaf Trail Run in Braggs, Oklahoma and it looked like a winner. How can you not dig a trail race with a bigfoot for a mascot?

After completing the OKC Memorial Marathon in April, I wasn’t entirely satisfied with my performance. My goal was to finish, but I felt like I could have done much more. I let nerves and improper pre-race planning cause GI issues that slowed me down, among other things.

I’ve been running consistently now for two years. I started running on a treadmill in September, 2017, and started running primarily outdoors in May, 2017. It’s grown from painful and boring to something I look forward to doing every chance I get. But reflecting back on two years of growth in the sport/hobby, I have to ask myself the question, “Why do I run?”
