Goal

This was my second lunchtime 5-mile run, and I made sure to use my watch properly to record it. So I actually ran 5 miles instead of 6. The goal was to get a decent tempo run down and, once again, focus on running form.

Result

I wore a compression shirt today under my tech shirt to help with yesterday’s… issues… and halfway through the run I was getting a stinging pain. It wasn’t from rubbing, but from sweat hitting the chafed surfaces. Ouch ouch ouch!

The run itself went well. Nice warm weather helped make it pleasant, and it felt like an easy run. I can tell my running form is getting better, but I still need to work on getting my lower legs more parallel to the ground on the back swing.

The plan now is to take Thursday off as a rest day and be plenty fresh for the 18-mile long run on Friday.

Data

Distance (mi) Time Pace (/mi)

Notes

I really want to make a new goal of getting my 5-mile runs under 45 minutes. I’m so close.

After the run last night and today, my allergies have been going off through the roof. After the run today I took a Benadryl to help, and it seems to be working. I haven’t felt as tired as I typically do after having one, so that’s a plus.
